Nick McCoy Shelton, 63, beloved son, husband, father and grandfather lost his brave and long battle with cancer and went to join his Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 9, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, Garnet Miles Shelton of Clarksville, TN. Nick grew up in Clarksville and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1976 from Austin Peay State University where he majored in Business Administration. Upon graduation he pursued a profession in retail management until he purchased Laminating Specialties in 2005. Through many years of hard work and dedication, he built Laminating Specialties into a highly successful business. He resided in Hendersonville, TN for the past 34 years.

Nick is survived by his wife, Renae Shelton, and his mother, Allene McCoy Shelton; a son, Joshua Shelton and his wife, Olivia, and their children Hanna and Joshua Shelton II of Gallatin, TN; a daughter, Kathryn Shelton Murphy and her children, William and Makensie Murphy, also of Gallatin, and J.D. Murphy of Hendersonville; three siblings, Patricia Shelton Boyd of Deerfield Beach, FL, Larry Shelton (wife, Linda Jackson Shelton, predeceased), of Blackfoot, Idaho and Anita Shelton Burns of Boca Raton, FL.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Nick's life beginning with a public gathering at the Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 353 East Main Street in Hendersonville from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 including a funeral ceremony at 11 a.m on Tuesday, November 14 at the funeral home's chapel. Burial will take place in the Crow Cemetery in Bumpus Mills, TN on Tuesday afternoon.

The family will appreciate tribute donations made to The American Cancer Society.
