Nellie Bailey

Nellie F. Bailey, age 97, passed away at her home on Monday, February 7, 2022. Preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Christine Forgy, husband, James B. Bailey, who passed in 1999, granddaughter, Cindy Bailey, and 6 siblings. Nellie is survived by her children, David Bailey (Virginia), Jim Bailey (Denise), Harold Bailey (Marjorie), 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Geneva Brignac, Dorothy Crawford and Barbara McClain, along with many extended family and friends.

Nellie was born on June 11, 1924, in Lewisburg, Kentucky. She worked as a unit secretary at Nashville Memorial Hospital and was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church in Hendersonville. She cherished her family and enjoyed having the family together for holidays, especially Christmas. Nellie was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 East Main Street, on Thursday, February 10th at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Carl Frensley. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 9th from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and again on Thursday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
