Nathan Sheffield Gay

Nathan Sheffield Gay, 32, of Carson, New Mexico, went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2023 in Carson, New Mexico.  He is survived by his loving parents, Dee and Melissa Clark Gay; uncle, Garry Gay (Mary); cousins, Taylor Gay (Emily) and Hunter Gay (Bailey); and his community of friends in Carson and Taos.

For the past 8 years, Nathan lived in both Colorado and New Mexico, working in various jobs, including programs for homeless juveniles at DreamTree and homeless adults at Española Pathways.  But making music, writing, and ecstatic dance were his passions, and he dug into them with his whole being.  Through his compassion, generosity, and mercy, he spread joy and light throughout his community.  Nathan never met a stranger and tried to help every person he met.  His faith in Christ is now sight.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following at First Baptist Hendersonville 106 Bluegrass Commons Blvd. Hendersonville, Tennessee with  Dr. Bruce Chesser and Rev. Jeff Lake officiating.  Burial will take place on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery 1101 Lebanon Pike Nashville, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Children’s Ministry at First Baptist Hendersonville or a charity of your choice.
