Roberts,, Nancy Nane Carman Born July 25, 1944 in Bristol, VA . Survived by her Husband, R. Douglas Roberts Jr., Daughter, Lina C. Roberts; Son, Everett D. Lana Roberts,; Grandchildren, Elizabeth, Laura, and Jonathan Roberts; Mother, Lena W. Carman; Sister-in-laws Kathy Robert Cox, and Mary Maddox,: Brother-in-laws , Wayne Roberts, Jack Marshall, Tom Clevenger, and Randy Maddox;; Nieces Allyson Marshall, Eve Ben English,, Emily Clevenger; Cynthia Roberts, Laurel Matthias Smith , Meredith Jason Porton,; Nephews Paul Barbara Marshall, Jay Roberts, Josh Roberts, Jeff Maddox and Tristan Marshall. Preceded in death by her Father. Paul E. Carman, her Sisters, Cathy Marshall and Beth Clevenger. Married R. Douglas Roberts Jr. June 18, 1966. She succumbed to cancer with the assurance of Life Eternal. Nane was a graduate of Tennessee H. S. Bristol, TN. and David Lipscomb University with a B.A. in Speech with graduate work toward a Masters at Tulsa University. Academic and extra curricular honors listed her in the 1966 Who's Who in American Universities 1966. Helping her husband in Rotary she was honored with a Paul Harris Fellow. Professionally Nane taught Speech and Drama at David Lipscomb High School and the last 26 years was Secretary to the Dean of the School of Business at David Lipscomb University. Nane was beautiful, loving, dedicated Christian woman to her husband, children, family, friends and community. Pallbearers: Paul Marshall, Jay Roberts, Josh Roberts, Jeff Maddox, Matthias Smith, and Ben English. Honorary pallbearers, Suzanne Martin, Chris Burton, Jackie Cash, Janett Cates and the Faculty of the School of Business at David Lipscomb University. Visitation at the Brentwood Hills Church of Christ Franklin Rd. Thursday from 4-8 PM February 4, 2010. Funeral Services at the Harpeth Hills Church of Christ Old Hickory Blvd. February 5, at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior to service. Dr. Chris Smith will conduct the service with Robert King leading singing. Internment at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. on Highway 100. Contributions may be made to AGAPE, David Lipscomb University or charity of your choice.
