Myrtle A. Melvin of Gallatin, TN passed away Friday, February 16, 2018. Myrtle was born June 17, 1930 in Panama City, FL to the late Clarence E. and Audrey O. (Adamson) Hartwick. Myrtle was a perfectionist and always kept her home impeccably clean and neat. She was also a great cook and loved hosting all family events and parties. She enjoyed fishing and anything outdoors, and was passionate about traveling. She was even able to join her husband for several years as an over the road truck driver later in life. Myrtle was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years James E. Melvin and one son, George T. Melvin. Surviving are her 3 children, James (Drena) Melvin, Gloria (Anthony) Riddle and Doris (Carey) Thompson; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 11a-1p at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St; Hendersonville, TN 37075) where funeral services will follow at 1:00pm. Burial will immediately follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
