Mildred “Millie” Juanita Sparkman, 84, of Hendersonville passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Mildred was born on January 22, 1939, in McEwen, Tennessee to Henry and Beaulah (Watts) Peek.
Millie graduated from McEwen High School and Volunteer State Community College with a degree in Design. She loved gardening, decorating, wildlife, and bird watching. Millie was a member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville where she was in the choir along with many of the women’s groups at the church. She was a member of a Bridge Club as well as a Square Dancing Group. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Millie is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Beaulah Peek, and her brothers Douglas Wayne Peek, and Albert Lee Peek. She is survived by her daughters Tonya Leigh (Jimmy) Fox and Tara Dawn Shrum, grandchildren Devin Thomas Wilson, Victoria Hope Wilson, Lindsay Grace Shrum, Molly Taylor Shrum, and James Tucker Fox, great-grandchildren Shawna Rayleigh Wilson, Subura Wrex Wilson, Anastasia Faith Wilson, Isabell Cerace Wilson, Bryson King Johnson, Oakley Parson Wilson, and James Ryan Fox, along with her brother Alfred Henry (Vicki) Peek and many other extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 12pm-2pm in the Mausoleum at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. A funeral service will begin at 2pm with entombment to follow in the Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
