Michael Maurer

Michael Anthony Maurer, age 76, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at his home in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He was born on August 22, 1945, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Nicholas and Mary Maurer. Michael was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Lorraine Maurer (Hall) and stepson, James Patrick Thompson.

Michael is survived by his stepson, Grady E Thompson (Marcia); brothers, Nicholas Adam, Peter Carl (Shirley), Joseph Mark (Susan); grandchildren, Jared Thompson (Michelle), Adam Thompson, Brian Thompson, and Jennifer Jackson (Jaykob), 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 3 nieces, 3 nephews and many grand nieces and nephews.

Michael graduated from Hendersonville High School in 1963 and attended Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee. Michael was a dedicated IT professional for over 40 years.

Michael loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed hosting a yearly forth of July celebration party from his deck where the fireworks exploded spectacularly directly above. Michael volunteered many hours through his church to help the homeless, elderly, and those in need. Michael was proud of his involvement with the Colleyville, Texas Fire Department where he became a volunteer fireman.

Michael enjoyed camping with family and friends, as well as with his Airstream Rally Group around the nation.

Pallbearers will be Jared Thompson, Adam Thompson, Daniel Maurer, Mason Maurer, Brian Thompson, Justice Thompson, and Tyler Thompson.

A celebration of life will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home in Hendersonville on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 1 P.M. Visitation will begin at 11 A.M.
