Mrs. Mary Ellen Toops age 78, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017.

Ms. Mary was born in Greenville, Kentucky on November 13, 1939, the daughter of the late Willouby Perry Dukes and Dovie Grace Dukes. She was a member of Hendersonville Church of Christ where she taught Pre-K for forty two years. The kids that she taught called her Ms. Mary, which is a name that stuck with her throughout her life. She loved Jesus, her family, and grandchildren and they were her top priority. Ms. Mary was an avid Vandy fan and enjoyed going to all the games with her husband. Also, she loved taking photos, going to the beach, and Elvis Presley.

Survivors include her husband of forty nine years, David Toops; two daughters, Tricia Hines (Mike) and Trenia Webb (Cary); and four grandchildren, Jessica Hines, Davey Hines, Kale Webb, and Kenzie Webb.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at one o'clock, Hendersonville Church of Christ with Keith Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Tuesday from four o'clock until seven o'clock at Hendersonville Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, bcrf.org.
