Mrs. Mary Farmer Smith age 95, of Cookeville, TN, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017.

Mrs. Smith was born in Cheatham County, TN, on September 13, 1922, the daughter of the late John William Farmer and Lula Mai Pelham Farmer. She was a member of Judson Baptist and worked twenty years at Castner-Knott. Mrs. Smith loved her family and grandchildren. She was an avid Braves Fan and enjoyed puzzle books and crochet. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, William Loggins Smith; brother, Leslie Leon Farmer; and a sister, Esther Alcorn.

Survivors include a son, Wade Smith, Sr. (Brenda); two daughters, Marcia Stinson (Larry) and Dawn Brachey (Doug); eight grandchildren, Dr. Wade Smith, Jr. (Lynda), Steven Smith (Mickie), Jeff Stinson (Cindy), Scott Stinson (Omaira), Todd Brachey (Lisa), Troy Brachey (Sheela), Bethany Nolter (Scott), and Meghan Cruz (Jonathan); thirteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Walker (Ed) and Jane Horton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at one o'clock, Hendersonville Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Gilmore officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Wednesday from ten o'clock until the funeral hour at Hendersonville Funeral Home.

The pallbearers will be Dr. Wade Smith, Jr., Steven Smith, Jeff Stinson, Scott Stinson, Todd Brachey, Troy Brachey, Bethany Nolter, and Meghan Cruz.
