Marvis Husky

Marvis Jean Thompson Husky, age 79 of Hendersonville passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023 in Hendersonville TN.

Marvis was born in Barrett, MN on Oct 7 1943.  She was the daughter of Orlin and Jeannette Leraas Thompson.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 40 years, Ferlin Husky.

She is survived by her brother Orlo Thompson (Betty) of Barrett, MN. Also survived by her 4 children; Julie Husky Smith (JR), Terry Preston Husky, Alana Husky Jackson (David), and Jennifer Husky; grandchildren James Roger Smith III, Austin Ferlin Smith, Madison Clarice Husky, Preston James Husky, Duel Christopher Lane, Leraas Thompson Lane, and Orlin Primm Lane; great grandchildren, Charlie David Smith, and Eli Murray Smith.

Marvis Thompson Husky grew up in Barrett, Minnesota.  She started her singing career at the age of 3 with her brother Orlo.  They sang on radio stations in Minneapolis as a duet for many years.  Marvis was a country artist who appeared on more than 20 albums.

A performer on the Grand Ole Opry, she appeared on various Tv shows, worked in movies, and entertained all over the world.

Marvis’ final resting place will be at her beloved family homestead in Barrett, MN.
