Age 82, of Gallatin, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016.
He was born December 19, 1933, in Hanover County, Virginia, to the late Katherine Martin Barnette Carneal and Patrick Henry Barnette.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean Tiller Barnette; sisters, Kay Barnette Smith and Betty Barnette Richardson; and a brother, Henry Wayne Barnette (Mary Lee). He also is survived by his daughters, Brenda Barnette Bazan (Nicolas), Cynthia Marie Barnette, and son, Stephen Elliott Barnette (Coni); grandchildren, Ashlee� Barnette Ballou, Nicolas Manuel Bazan, Jr., and Rachel Elise Bazan. Survivors also include great-grandchildren, Ryder Elliott Ballou and Elise Monae Bazan.
Bill served in the U.S. Army after which he graduated from the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia. He enjoyed a business career with Parke Davis Pharmaceutical Company and Lincoln Financial Group where he was a licensed Certified Financial Planner who specialized in financial and estate planning. In addition to his work, Bill enjoyed outside activities including yardwork, gardening, and playing golf. Once retired, he resumed his passion for bowling and could always be found in "his chair" solving the daily crossword puzzles. Bill will be remembered by family and friends as a kind and humble man with a strong will and keen business sense. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, loving his family dearly and always putting them first.
Visitation with family will be Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., followed by the Celebration of Life service at 3:00 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 E. Main St., Hendersonville, TN.
