Martha Smith

SMITH, Martha Stevens – Age 79 of Pegram passed away surrounded by her family at home on September 29, 2011. Mrs. Smith was a loving, selfless, kind, humble, compassionate, genuine woman who was an inspiration to anyone who knew her. She enjoyed being a homemaker, and providing for anyone she came into contact with. She also loved reading, traveling to the beach and collecting Angels and Bell keepsakes of all kinds. Proceded in death by her parents, Mary & Theopholis Stevens, sister, Evelyn Mangrum; brothers, Frank Stevens & Charles Stevens. Survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, D. L. Smith; daughter, Donna Cowart Dale; sons, Ronnie Smith Debbie & Steve Smith; six grandchildren, Jeremy Gaddes, Brandy Self Mark, Kristi Cowart, Kacie Smith, Brian Smith and Melanie Searles; five great-grandchildren. A Life Celebration will be held 11am Monday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Jeff Dewees officiating. Burial to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Visitation will be 2pm – 8pm Sunday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers dontations may be made to Alive Hospice.
