Mrs. Marguerite Ellis Goehring, age 84, of Hendersonville, passed away on September 28, 2019. She was born in Ocee, Georgia on November 13, 1934 to the late Albert and Maggie Ellis. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John Andrew Goehring, Jr; and sister, Elizabeth Shirley.

Marguerite loved the Lord, her family, and working with children. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter seeing the sights of our beautiful country. She especially liked visiting lighthouses. In her later years, she enjoyed solving jigsaw puzzles, crosswords and word jumbles along with reading cozy mysteries on her iPad.

She is survived by her daughter, Sara Goehring; nephews, Marcus Shirley and Stan(Martha) Shirley; and niece, Suzanne (Gene) Brynum.

A life celebration will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 3rd in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with burial in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Wednesday evening and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Darren Andus will be officiating the service. Pallbearers will be the house dads and Program Director from the Brentwood Campus of the Tennessee Baptist Children's Homes.
