Margaret A. (Kittye) Wright, age 88, went to be with Jesus on Monday, April 18th, 2022.
She was born in 1933, in Monticello AR to Emmett Hugh and Mary Emily (Millen) Dye. Kittye married her high school sweetheart, Yates Pope Wright June 5, 1955. They had 2 children, Susie Cook and Jim Wright. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Yates and her sister, Betty Jo Billingsley, from Little Rock, AR. She is survived by her children Jim Wright, Susan Cook; her 4 grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Cameron and Chase; 7 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews and many special friends that loved her.
Kittye loved her family and friends with all her heart. She was a wonderful wife, amazing mother, adventurous grandmother, loving aunt and a true friend. She taught 3-4 year old Sunday School for many years and continued her love for children throughout her life. She remained a faithful Christian for her entire life, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville, TN for over 40 years.
Kittye was a caring, lovable, generous woman who, throughout her lifetime, devoted herself to her giving of herself to others. She loved finding special cards or gifts to surprise family or friends and even had a special “Treasure Chest” for the children in the neighborhood.
She loved her grandchildren deeply and was very involved in their upbringing. When they were younger, she was always providing guidance and looking for ways to surprise them with a special day…from lunches in the car in the rain to special “Terrific Tuesdays” or ”Fabulous Fridays”, a day with their grandmother was always an adventure.
Kittye’s joy was contagious. Her loving spirit and generosity touched many people and blessed them. She shared the love of God and showed a level of kindness that is not found often. Her “little light” really did shine every day.
We were very blessed to have had Kittye in our lives and will miss her greatly, but know that God’s open arms have welcomed her home and we will meet again in heaven.
The family will be having a private graveside service to celebrate Kittye’s life. In lieu for flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s, or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
