Margaret Sims

Margaret Ann Sims- age 82 of Hendersonville, TN passed away July 17, 2015.
She was a woman of deep faith and a longtime member of Cathedral of The Incarnation.
Margaret was a graduate of the Memphis Methodist Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a Neurosurgical Nurse after graduation. While in Memphis she met and married the love of her life Norman L. Sims Sr., MD, Colonel U.S. Air Force/Captain U.S. Navy. Margaret was very proud of her years as a military wife, having followed her husband's service in both the Navy and Air Force. She enjoyed all the traveling and adventure that came with it.
Margaret will be remembered for her generosity, always giving to anyone in need. She was also one of the early members of the Sumner County Humane Society where she volunteered countless hours.
Margaret had many passions in life including traveling, collecting art, and cooking.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Jewel Quertermous.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Norman L. Sims Sr., MD,; children, Deborah (Walter) Choate, Candace (David) Newsom, Leigh Sims, and Norman Sims, Jr.; grandchildren, Stephen (Kathryn) Choate, Caroline (Teddy) Hillard, John-Michael Burrow, Travis and Margaret Uga; 3 great-grandchildren and beloved friend, Frances Farrar.
Visitation will be held at Cathedral of The Incarnation on Monday, July 27, 2015 from 11am-1pm with Memorial Mass at 1pm with private interment to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sumner County Humane Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.
