Age 97, of Nashville, TN passed away on the evening of Saturday, November 7, 2015.
Margaret leaves behind a legacy as a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her feisty spirit and her ability to endure life's hardships will be remembered by all who knew her.
Born near Statesville, TN, in 1918, she was the daughter of Garland and Martha Era Stroud. She was raised in Wilson County and moved to Nashville after her marriage.
Margaret was a meticulous homemaker who kept an immaculate home and enjoyed cooking. She also took pride in dressing up and could always be found wearing high heels, even into her 80s.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 70-plus years, Ernest Clifton Jordan; her daughter, Romaine Dyer; and her four brothers, Harry, Malcolm, Carlyle and Jonas L. Stroud.
She is survived by her grandson, Jason Dyer; great-granddaughter, Kady Waller; sister, Mary Nell Landrum; and several nieces and nephews.
A life celebration will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
