Mr. Mack Robert Rhea age 75, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018.

Mr. Rhea was born in Birmingham, AL, on July 15, 1943, the son of the late Henry Moffett Rhea and Laura Mai McGowan Rhea. He served in the United States Navy and in the United States Army in Panama during the Vietnam War. Mr. Rhea retired from the TN State Department of Mental Health as an Assistant Commissioner after forty-three years of service. He was a member of Hendersonville Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and was on the mission committee. Mr. Rhea was a master of many hobbies which included traveling, photography, electronics, StudyJesus website, and genealogy. Also, he enjoyed science fiction, Civil War History, and was an avid western fan.

Survivors include his wife, Paula Rhea to whom he was married on July 19, 1969; two sons, Robert Sean Rhea (Shelley) and Andrew Thomas Rhea; and five grandchildren, Andrew Jacob Rhea, Emma Claire Rhea, Cooper Andrew Rhea, Adalyn Chloe Rhea, and Maverick Andrew Rhea.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 13, 2018, at 11:00 A.M., Hendersonville Church of Christ with Rodney Cloud, Larry Snow, and Elon Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens (Field of Honor) with military honors.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Hendersonville Funeral Home and Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at Hendersonville Church of Christ.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to studyjesus.com.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as active pallbearers and are requested to meet at the church on Thursday by 10:30 A.M.: Sean Rhea, Andy Rhea, Jacob Rhea, and Garrett Bumbalough. The honorary pallbearers will be Elon Thomas, Dennis Johnson, Ken Becker, and Larry Perry.
