Louise Carlisle "Lou" Harrell

September, 17, 1929 - June 1, 2017
Passed peacefully after a long battle with dementia. Lou Harrell was born in Shepherd, Texas in 1929. Daughter of James Wesley Carlisle and Mary Lou Virginia Carlisle. She married Fulton Harrell in 1947 in Shepherd, Texas. They settled in the early 1950's in Jefferson, Texas and then moved to Longview in 1972.

Lou was a strong independent woman and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked at an ammunition plant in the 60's, owned a small jewelry store in Jefferson and later acquired her real estate license in Longview where she was a realtor. Ms. Harrell relocated to Nashville, TN in the 90's and continued to sell real estate for some 25 years. Lou was a member at First Baptist Church Hendersonville, TN and was active for years volunteering in the prayer room, family life center, vbs and meals on wheels.

Preceded in death by her parents, James Wesley Carlisle & Mary Lou Virginia Carlisle, sister Gladys Lake, and son Wesley Eugene Harrell. She is survived by sons; Fulton Carlisle Harrell (Sue), Christopher Peyton Harrell (Linda), Anthony Ray Harrell (Christy), Daughter-in - law Lydia Harrell, nephew Jim Lake(Jane), niece Linda Winford (Donald), 12 grandchildren; Amity Harrell, Domini Davis, Jeremy Nelson, James Harrell, Richard Sawyer, Kelly Hetz, Morgan Harrell, Rachael Spain, Eli Harrell, Josh Harrell, Hollen Harrell, Ethan Harrell, 12 great grandchildren; Riley Sawyer, Shelby Sawyer, Savannah Sawyer, Hollen Hetz, Harper Hetz, Henrik Hetz, Gabriel Davis, Callan Davis, Brogan Davis, Luke Spain, Aubree Spain, Maddox Harrell.

A Life Celebration service for Lou will be held at Hendersonville First Baptist Church on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 1:00PM, officiated by Pastor Bruce Raley. Visitation will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 5:00PM - 8:00PM, and again one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will take place at a later date in Texas.
