Louis Edgar Lancaster, 72, passed away at his home in Hendersonville on July 24, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born in Clay County, Tennessee. He retired after 30 years with Gates/Pirelli and was also the owner and operator of Lancaster Carpets for 40 years. He was a member of Hendersonville Church of Christ for 46 years. He was an avid hunter and golfer who enjoyed spending time outdoors with his friends and family. He was a formidable opponent in checkers and horse shoes. He was a devoted and loving family man. Ed was known as a problem solver and a good listener. As the youngest child of 12 siblings, he grew up very kind hearted, caring and soft spoken. His family described him as, "giving, patient, adventurous, loving and wise". Mr. Lancaster will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; 4 children, Gina (Tim) Caudill, Jeff (Jennifer) Lancaster, Shawn (Kathy) Lancaster, Craig (Samantha) Lancaster; and 2 stepsons, Robert (Rachel) Lee and Philip Lee; as well as 12 grandchildren, Adam Caudill, Chase, Caudill, Alec Lancaster, Asher Lee, Riley Lee, Ella Lancaster, Micah Lee, Max Lancaster, Ruth Lee, Caroline Lancaster, Will Lancaster, Autum Lancaster. He is also survived by his brother, Eulis (Mabel) Lancaster and sister, Alene Gray, and countless nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lee, and his mother, Roxie, and 9 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be 3-7 pm, Thursday, July 27 at Hendersonville Church of Christ. Life Celebration services will be held 10 am, Friday, July 28 at Hendersonville Church of Christ, followed by a private graveside service for the family. Clyde Head will be officiating the Life Celebration service. Pallbearers will be; Adam Caudill, Chase Caudill, Alec Lancaster, Philip Lee, Riley Lee, Patrick Kilgore, Jerry Lancaster. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Asher Lee, Micah Lee, Max Lancaster, Will Lancaster.
