Our beloved, Lois Ann Wilson, passed away on September 22, 2022. She was a devoted and loving wife to William “Bill” Wilson, husband of 54 years, and a loving mother of three children. Lois was born on August 3, 1940 in Jacksonville, FL to James Diggs Curry and Mary Perez De Guzman Curry. She grew up in Miami, FL and graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1958.
Lois met her soulmate and love of her life at a square dance in Hialeah, FL and later married on April 12, 1968. Bill and Lois settled in Hollywood, FL where they lovingly raised their three children. She worked in bookkeeping and retail sales throughout most of the years in Hollywood. They frequently vacationed to the Florida Keys as a family. Lois greatly enjoyed hosting dinners and gathering with all of her family and friends together. She also loved shopping and buying plants and flowers, but most importantly, the love between her and her family was strong and unconditional. With her husband by her side, she was present at almost all of her kids’ events. Later, she attended as many of her grandchildren’s activities as possible, such as holiday programs, Grandparent’s Days, academic celebrations, high school Rock Band and chorus performances, and many lacrosse and volleyball games. She was an amazing and deeply loved mother and grandmother. Lois and Bill set such an awesome example in their marriage, especially in portraying their unconditional love for each other and their family.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Curry, Jr., and close friends Let Norton & Eddie McMillion. She is survived by her loving husband; brother Paul (Dania) Curry; sister-in-law Nellie Curry; sons Tom Roberts & Roy (Mary) Roberts; daughter Tina Slaughter; and grandchildren Michael Roberts, Kyle (Autumn) Roberts, Brady Slaughter, Kameron Slaughter & Emily Slaughter. In addition, she is survived by her close cousins Lois Allison & Andy (Barbie) Clute, and close friends Sheri Hirschfeld, Sue Norton, and Arlene & Tonya McMillion.
