Lloyd L.C. Burkett, 81 of Hendersonville, passed away on Friday, April 23rd, 2021. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. William Elrod, grandfather, Carl Burkett, mother, Minnie Cox, his first wife, Bessie Mae Burkett and sisters, Mildred Crowder and Jane Goswick. Survived by his wife of 16 years, Lisa Burton Burkett, daughter, Rhonda Deniece Burkett Thompson (Terry) and their children, Patrik and Kady Thompson, daughter, Amy Chapdelaine (Jeremy) and children, Rachel Bornick and Haley Brown (Griffin), son, Daniel Holt (Kristin) and their children, Chloe and Morgan Holt. Lloyd is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and extended family and friends.
Lloyd was born on November 26, 1939 in Dalton, Georgia. While in Georgia he worked for World Carpet and Collins & Aikman and then he retired from PFG in Madison, Tennessee where he was a Lead Foreman. Lloyd was a talented musician and singer who played multiple instruments. He proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Sill, Ft. Benning and Ft. Jackson. Lloyd loved his church and was a member of Bellshire Assembly of God. He was a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and was known to be quite the jokester and good storyteller. He loved his family and enjoyed getting together with them for birthdays and his favorite holidays, Christmas and Thanksgiving.
A celebration of life service for Lloyd will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 East Main Street in Hendersonville on Wednesday, April 28th at 1:00 PM, officiated by Pastors Scott Dobbins and Christopher Wiley. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 27th from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
