Leroy Troutt, age 72 of Gallatin, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Sumner Regional Medical Center. A Sumner County native, he was born to the late Smiley and Lolar Perry Troutt. Mr. Troutt worked for the National Stores here in Gallatin for over 33 ½ years. Most recently, Leroy worked for the City Mini Storage, and was a funeral assistant for the Gallatin Funeral Home. He was a member of the Old Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, and was a faithful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Cantrell Troutt, Eugene Troutt, Jack Troutt; sisters, Dean McCloud, Minnie Norris, Joan Born, Mary Lou Troutt, and Myrtle May Troutt. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Sue Troutt of Gallatin; son, Tony Troutt of Gallatin; daughter, Beth Rhoton and her husband Joe III; grandchildren, Rachel Hoover and her husband Matt of Bethpage, Adam Troutt and his wife Kayla of Gallatin, Jennifer Rhoton of Bethpage, Shanna Troutt of Gallatin, Joe Rhoton IV of Bethpage; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl D. Troutt and his wife Christine of Gallatin, Rammie Troutt and his wife Glenda of Westmoreland; sisters, Maidell Bell of Westmoreland, Roberta Akins of Westmoreland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Gallatin Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Dean Linville officiating. Interment will follow in the Gallatin Memory Gardens at Crestview. Adam Troutt, Joe Rhoton IV, Gary Bell, Foster Bell, Mark Troutt, and Richard Troutt will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will begin on Saturday, November 14 from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 15 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Online condolences may be submitted at www.gallatinfuneralhome.com.
