Lawanda “Wanda” Kemp (Gammon), age 65, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2023, after succumbing to complications arising from advanced Parkinson’s disease. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on August 12, 1957. Wanda moved to Hendersonville in her youth, graduated from Hendersonville High School, married, and lived the remainder of her life here. She was a model daughter, supportive wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, and dependable friend. Over the years, Wanda worked as both a bookkeeper and homemaker, loved spending time with her family and friends, and had an indefatigable sweet tooth befitting her sweet disposition.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Mike” Kemp, and father, Billy Gammon. She is survived by her mother, Lavada Merry (Gregory); her daughter, Kaitlin Kemp; her son, Brandon Kemp; and her grandson, Aiden Tayes.
In lieu of a funeral service, family members hope that her loved ones will consider honoring her memory by donating to the Michael J. Fox Foundation (https://www.michaeljfox.org).
