Mrs. Laura Esther Cowart age 72, of Spring Hill, TN, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020.
Mrs. Cowart was born in Parkersburg, WV, on April 14, 1948, the daughter of the late Howard Brown and Opal Lattimer Brown. She was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church. Mrs. Cowart retired from Whitten Elementary after twenty-fiver years of service. "Esther Cowart left no question about who she loved...she loved Jesus, her husband Mike and her boys Mike, Benji, and Jeremy with a love that was fiercely protective and unconditionally loyal. She made her home the house that her boys and all their friends wanted to hang out at because she was the fun mom who made everyone feel welcomed and safe. She was also the mom that would not only drive the boys and their friends to roll/teepee the neighbors house, it was usually her idea. And when she became "Ninny", she was the grandmother who could be caught sneaking her grandkids a secret stash of Mountain Dew, candy, or a toy that made lots of noise.
She will be GREATLY missed by her husband, her sons, her grandchildren and pretty much everyone that knew her because this earth is just not quite as fun without her...(and if there are mansions in Heaven that are now covered in toilet paper...I'm sure she and Mike jr. had nothing to do with it.)" In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cowart was preceded in death by a son, Mike Cowart, Jr. and two brothers, David and Larry Brown.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Cowart, to whom she was married on September 14, 1968; two sons, Benji Cowart (Jenna) and Jeremy Cowart (Shannon); ten grandchildren, Noah Cowart, Braden Cowart, Reese Cowart, Kyndall Cowart, Adler Cowart, Zac Cowart, Eisley Cowart, Maisy Cowart, Eli Cowart, and Ebbe Cowart; and four siblings, Jim Brown (Pat), Pat Frank (Mike), Ruth Williams, and Delores Guthrie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Hendersonville Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to National Ataxia Foundation, www.ataxia.org.
