Larry “Joe” Talley

We regret to announce the passing of Larry “Joe” Talley, age 83, of Gallatin, TN (formerly from Navarre, FL). He passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 8:45 AM CST surrounded by his loved ones.

Larry was born on November 26, 1938 in Anniston, AL.  He was a widow; and his wife, Janice Elaine Talley deceased on February 13, 2015. He had a significant impact on many during his career as a helicopter pilot in the Army while stationed in Vietnam (three tours), Ft. Rucker, Alabama, Ft. Benning, Georgia, and Germany (three tours).  He retired from the Army and moved to Navarre, Florida. He was a Mason out of Ensley Lodge 278 located in Pensacola, Florida.

Preceded in death by his parents, Robert Eugene Talley and Hattie Inez Morris, and two brothers, Gerald Hansel Talley and Herman Hershel Talley and one sister, Hattie Jean Talley.

He is survived by one brother, Autry Levi Talley and wife, Linda of Honoraville, Alabama; and three sisters: Linda Gail Talley of Headland, Alabama; Emily Sue Oswald and husband, Wayne of Semmes, Alabama; and Shelby Jane Malone and husband Bean of Navarre, Florida; and his children:  son, Robert E. Talley and wife, Elke of Slocomb, Alabama; and two daughters: Eugenia J. Corder and husband, Gregory of Hendersonville, TN; and Tammy F Talley of Murphy, NC; and; and five grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Hendersonville Memory Gardens in Hendersonville, TN with Autry Levi Talley officiating.  Visitations for family and friends will be held an hour prior to the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.

The family would like to thank the staff at TB&J Total Heart (Joannie Suddarth and Bailee Lubin) located in Hendersonville, TN and Alive Hospice in Madison, TN for the love and care given to Larry.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name, to Shriner’s Hospital, Wounded Warriors, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and/or Alive Hospice (Madison, TN).
