L. Wayne Lee, age 73 of Hendersonville, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018. Preceded in death by his parents, Walton Jennings and Mary (Cordell) Lee. Survived by his wife Nancy of 50 years, sons, Kevin Andrew Lee, Brian Matthew Lee (Cassie) and grandson, Carson Jennings Lee. Wayne is also survived by his dog, "Coop", along with extended family and friends.

Wayne was born on May 10, 1945 in Charleston, South Carolina. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina where he became an Eagle Scout and later graduated from Spartanburg High School. Wayne attended Clemson University where he was a member of the Air Force ROTC. Upon graduating with a degree in engineering, Wayne was also commissioned in the Air Force. He was stationed at Beale Air Force Base in California for five and a half years as a civil engineer. In 1973, he moved to Tennessee where he worked for Aladdin Industries in Nashville. Wayne then worked for AVCO/Textron, Brown Printing and Continental Machinery Movers in Nashville.

Wayne loved all things Clemson University and was a Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators fan along with watching golf. He enjoyed being in the outdoors whether it was in the mountains of Gatlinburg, boating on the lake or just relaxing on the beach with his family. Wayne loved to eat, especially ribs and farm fresh vegetables. Wayne will be dearly missed by his family and by all that knew him.

A Celebration of Life service for Wayne will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Thursday, September 13th at 1:00PM, officiated by Pastor Jerry Peace. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:00AM. Burial will follow the service at Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Military Honors.
