Kenneth Bond

Kenneth Bond, a steadfast beacon of joy and resilience, bid farewell to this world on February 23, 2024, surrounded by the comforting embrace of his loving family. Born on October 5, 1938, in Louisville, KY, to James Bond and Evelyn Hargrove, Kenneth's life was a rich tapestry woven with love, dedication, and cherished moments that define a life well-lived.

Kenneth's journey through life was marked by love, not once but twice. His heart first found its match in Chiquita Bond, with whom he embarked on the adventure of family life. After Chiquita's passing, a path of love led him to Justine Staton, whom he married on October 28, 1988. With Justine, he shared the truest form of companionship until his last breath.

A proud father, Kenneth's legacy is carried on through his children: Daryl Bond (Leeann) of Troy, MO; Michael Bond of Louisville, KY; Faith Deal of Mansfield, OH; Tina Brandt (Timothy) of Portland, TN; and Robin Holman of Gallatin, TN. His love and wisdom echo in the lives of his grandchildren: Brandi Miller (Hareldo) of Mansfield, OH; Montana Devore (Jacob) of Jacksonville, NC; Austin Deal of Nashville, TN; and Hudson Holman of Gallatin, TN.

Kenneth is also survived by two siblings, Sylvia Parkhurst (Richard) and Larry Bond (Donna), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife Chiquita Bond, his parents James and Evelyn Bond, and siblings Margaret Straub, Lucille Mobley, Virginia Newsome, Ronny Bond, Kirby Bond, Cindy Fuqua, Angie Snellen and Tony Bond.  His family tree, marked by both joy and loss, stands as a testament to the enduring bond of love and memory.

Kenneth's life was a testament to his passions and the simple pleasures that brought him joy. An avid fan of the University of Kentucky basketball team, he shared his enthusiasm and team spirit with all who knew him, especially his grandson Hudson. His love for playing cards and games was legendary; he was always ready with a draw two from Uno, much to the delight and sometimes chagrin of his family and friends. His appreciation for a nice cold Bud Light and the excitement of Derby time reflected his ability to enjoy life's moments to their fullest.

His professional life was marked by dedication and hard work. Kenneth spent 13 years at the GM Corvette plant in Bowling Green, KY, preceded by 29 years at International Harvester in Louisville, KY, contributing his skills and labor to the fabric of American industry. His service in the Air Force, from 1955 through 1959, was a period of pride and growth, laying the foundation for the values he would carry throughout his life.

Visitation for Kenneth will be held from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm on March 3, 2024, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 pm with burial thereafter. All services will be conducted at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 East Main, Hendersonville, TN 37075, where friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a man who was truly one of a kind.

Kenneth Bond's legacy is not just in the memories he leaves behind but in the lives he touched, the family he cherished, and the unending love that will forever bind them together. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
