Kay Elgin

Kay Elgin of Hendersonville, TN passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in Hendersonville. Kay was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville for over 30 years and was involved in many church groups and mission trips. In her spare time Kay enjoyed gardening and cooking for family and friends. She was also passionate about fashion, having a closet full of clothes and shoes that rival most department stores. Above all else, Kay loved spending time with her family, friends and of course, her dogs. On June 4, 1955 Kay was united in marriage to her devoted and loving husband of 62 years, Johnny Elgin, who preceded her in death in 2017. Surviving are her children, Rhonda (Perry) Bolin, Mark Elgin, Teena (Nick) Thompson, Lisa (Scott) Peters, Rochelle (Tim) Hayes and Sandi (Josh) Phelps; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter; brothers, Max (Rose) Martin and Marty (Jennifer) Martin. A private family burial will take place at Hendersonville Memory Gardens alongside her husband.
