Karen Lee Juarez passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on February 12, 1953, in Nashville, Tennessee, Karen was the daughter of James and Ella Killen, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her brother, William (Billy) Killen, and her beloved daughter, Reina Juarez Smith. 

Karen is survived by her brother, Tommy Killen (Mary Mann Killen), her niece, Molly Roberts, her daughter, Tina Juarez (Timothy Williams), and her cherished grandchildren, Kody Burr, Hayven Williams, and Taye Smith. 

A proud graduate of East High School, Class of 1971, Karen began a career as a supervisor at Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company before transitioning to Lamberth and Sons Plumbing, where she worked as a secretary until her well-earned retirement. 

Karen, also known as, “Ma” or “Mama J” was a friend to all and a helper to anyone in need.Thanks to her grandchildren, she gained the name “Memaw,” which everyone who knew her came to use. She was a devoted football fan, cheering passionately for the Tennessee Titans and watching her grandsons’ high school football games with pride. 

In her quieter moments, Karen found joy in crocheting, coloring, drinking coffee, and spending time with family and friends. Her loving heart, warm spirit, and sassy humor will be deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
