Karen Eileen Brock, age 53 of Springfield, passed away on December 18, 2014 at NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield.

When talking about Mrs. Karen the words caring, spiritual, loving, humble, and beautiful inside and out came to mind. She enjoyed serving and spending time with her grandson. She would play with him for hours; she loved reading to him and watching cartoons. However, during her quiet times she studied her Bible and enjoyed making and decorating cakes for different events. She loved going to Las Vegas or just running down the road to Red Lobster and Mighty Dollar. Her favorite songs where Achy Breaky Heart, Hotel California and Cool Black Dress to name a few, but most of all she just loved to cook. Her patients were always her passion; she took pride in her job and loved taking care of others. Her family agrees they are so blessed to have had the pleasure of being loved by her. They will carry her memories and her love with them forever.

Mrs. Karen was born on March 19, 1961 to the late Richard Edward Irwin and Margaret Ellen Larson. She is also preceded in death by her husband Elvin Brock and sister Sandie Horton.
Mrs. Karen is survived by her daughters Kerri Long and Kelly Long; grandson Braelyn Bigbee; step-daughter Megan Link; step-grandchildren Landon Brock and McKenzie Link; siblings Joyce Irwin, Rick (Cindy) Irwin, Cindy (David) McCurdy, Lisa (Reed) Bumgarner, Melody (Roy) Gower, and Linda(Frank) Ragains; step-mother Janis Irwin; step-siblings, Don (Shannon) McCarthy, Richard (Kara) McCarthy, and Karen (Christopher) Walls and numerous nieces and nephews.
