Age 73 of Hendersonville, TN passed unto her Lord and Savior on August 11, 2016 after a brief illness.

A dedicated teacher, Judy taught in Metro Nashville Public Schools for twenty-eight years until her retirement. While teaching, she called Neely's Bend Elementary School her home. Upon retiring from her first career, Judy went on to devote sixteen more years passionately serving the children and community at the Hendersonville Public Library. She will live on as "The Story Lady" to many in the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Vicki Steagall; and her sister, Shannon Steagall. Judy leaves behind her faithful and loving husband of 52 years, Richard Roche; daughter, Lauren (Ryan) Powell; son, Andrew (Kelly) Roche; sister, Vicki (Kelly) Snead; brothers, Ken Steagall, Ronnie (Darla) Steagall; several nieces and nephews; and numerous treasured friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy's honor to Hendersonville First Presbyterian Church's Memorial Fund, 172 West Main Street, Hendersonville, TN 37075. Please be sure to indicate your gift in memory of Judy Roche.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, August 18 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Judy's Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 19 beginning at 11 a.m. in the church. All services will take place at Hendersonville First Presbyterian Church. hendersonvillefh.com
