Judy Finholt, 80, of Hendersonville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, January 4, 2021. Preceded in death by her husband of 37 loving years, Paul Finholt, Sr. Survived by her children; Nancy Egan (Brian), Missy Matson and James Blocker, grandchildren; Hailey Brewer (Jeff), Wesley Matson (Keeley), Leah Brant (Ethan), Drew Egan, Martin Matson, Cole Egan and Grace Egan, great-grandchildren; Allie Brewer, Levi Brewer, Emma Katherine Brewer and Anna Matson, brother, Jim Thornton (Pat) and half-sisters, Patty Poe and Betty Sullivan, nephews, Jay Thornton and Matt Thornton.
Judy, also known as "Nana", was born on July 4, 1940 in Columbia, TN to the late James Thornton and Alice Marie Sudberry. She was a loving, creative, and devoted wife, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She adored her family, loved to laugh, and always filled the room with so much joy. She enjoyed traveling, boating, golfing and spending time with her family. She attended First Baptist Hendersonville for many years and had a love for art and painting. She was a gifted musician who played the piano and sang as a career, and later as a loved hobby.
A Celebration of Life service for Judy will be held in the Chapel of the Hendersonville Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 353 East Main Street in Hendersonville, on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 11:30 AM, presided by Pastor Richard Gaia. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow the service in the Field of Honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Nana was passionate about raising money for JDRF in support of her granddaughter. You can donate at the following link: www.jdrf.org
