Judith Stephenson

passed away from this world Thursday August 21, 2014. She was born on November 27, 1939 in Louisville Kentucky and was the eldest child of Harry and Edith Bickel. She grew up in Louisville, graduating from Atherton High School. She continued her education with an English degree from Eastern Kentucky University. Returning to Louisville after graduation she taught school and met and married Steve Stephenson. Steve and Judy explored the Southeast as his job took them from place to place. They lived in Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, and even Puerto Rico before landing in Hendersonville, Tennessee where Judy put an end to Steve's wandering ways. A loving wife and mother, a talented artist, a fierce competitor, and an avid golfer; Judy gave her whole heart to each and every endeavor. She was loved by those who knew her and will be dearly missed. Hers was a life well lived.
Survived by her loving husband of 51 years, James "Steve" Stephenson; sons, Scott Stephenson (Christie) & Danny Stephenson; grandchildren Scott Stephenson (Valerie), Chelsea Hendricks, Sunny Stephenson, Ella Stephenson, Lane Stephenson and 1 great-grandchild; brother, Harry Bickel (Ann); nephew Eric Cochran (Riddhi); and countless friends from places too numerous to mention.
