Jordan Dewayne McClanahan, 18, of Gallatin, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 2, 2019. Preceded in death by his grandparents; Harold Dewayne Martin Sr. and Billy Still. Survived by his parents; Mike and Jennifer McClanahan, birth mother, Brenda Beene, siblings; Cody McClanahan, Megan Beene, Tyler Beene, Alexis McClanahan and Haley McClanahan, grandparents; Larry and Betty McClanahan, June Still, Ted Price, Peggy Ferguson and great-grandmother, Edith Fischer-Hardy. Jordan is also survived by many extended family and friends.

Jordan was born on September 18, 2000 in the Chattanooga area (East Ridge) and grew up in Dayton, TN. He attended Gallatin High School and was a member of Future Farmers of America. Jordan was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church where he was baptized on December 9, 2015. He was a member of the Student Leadership Team and Media Ministry. Jordan was part of a student ministry trip to Guatemala where he found a love and appreciation for the Guatemalan people. Jordan loved music, was an artist with a passion for drawing and enjoyed hanging out with his friends. Jordan joined his adoptive family on August 3, 2016, along with his three siblings. He was a loving, happy young man, and protective brother who loved spending time with his family. Jordan will be dearly missed by his family, his church and his community.

A Celebration of Life service for Jordan will be held at Hendersonville First Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 7th at 11:30AM, officiated by Pastor Mike McClanahan and Pastor Bruce Chesser. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the the church on Tuesday, August 6th from 5:00PM-8:00PM and again from 10:00AM-11:00AM on Wednesday.

Contributions in Jordan's name can be made to the Guatemala Mission Project through Hendersonville First Baptist Church.
