Johnnie "Mama 2" Everett, Age 85, of Hendersonville was born March 24, 1929 and passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on February 23, 2015 while surrounded by her devoted, loving family.

Johnnie attended East High School. She lived an active life devoted to her family and friends. Being a long time member of First Baptist Church, she worshiped and served her Lord in many capacities including sending Christmas Shoeboxes, working with the Rescue Mission and sewing dresses for children in Haiti. She was always ready to give others "secret gifts" of charity and help those in need. Mrs. Everett loved her Lord and family and enjoyed her work as a seamstress at Opryland and J. Nissi Praise Banners. Family dinners, holiday parties, homemade ice cream, a shoulder to cry on and a heart to laugh and have fun with, were her specialties. We all loved being together and she will be sadly missed by all of us.

Our family would like to give special thanks and appreciation for everyone who gave her such great care at Tennessee Oncology, Vanderbilt, Sumner Regional Hospital, Highpoint Hospice, Homecare providers as well as Dr. Snider. Also to all who sent cards (Christmas) prayers, visits, food, and many other acts of kindness during her illness. We are truly grateful for everything as you helped make the road a little easier and happier for our mama 2! THANK YOU, With Love from all our family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Grady Everett and son Terry. Survived by daughters, Joyce Foster (Ruben), Suzanne Duffy (Tommy) and Kristy Jackson (Johnny); sister, Ethel Craighead; grandchildren, Kellie Burgess (Billy), Tracie Foster, Kerrie Foster, Crystal Lee (Chris), Samantha Duffy, Chris Reeves (Keri), Jodi Lackey (Charlie), Kendall, Cooper, Karley, Kealey, and Kaycee Jackson; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A Life Celebration will be held 11am Friday, February 27th with Pastor Jeff Lake officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3-8pm Thursday & 10-11am Friday at Hendersonville Funeral Home 353 Johnny Cash Pkwy Hendersonville, TN, 37075, 615-824-3855 hendersonvillefh.com.
