John Williams

September 18, 1952 — September 3, 2022

Our beloved, John Warner Williams, passed away on September 3, 2022. His family and friends surrounded him in the last moments of his time on Earth. We find peace knowing he was greeted at Heaven’s gates by his Mom (Coretha), Dad (Thomas Luke), his brother Mike (Patty), and his two best friends, Matthew and Marina.

John was born on September 18th, 1952 in Lancaster, SC. He spent most of his life with his 3 brothers, Mike, Rick, and Tom, and his mother in Tampa, Fl. John was not only a great friend, brother, father, and husband but also one of the most avid football fans to walk this Earth. During his time he played football all of high school at Leto High School in Tampa FL and continued his career at Troy State University where he received a BS in Psychology. When he was a young boy he discovered football coach, Paul (Bear) Bryant, and his love for Alabama football was born. John never missed an Alabama football game Saturday and spent most of the time cheering them on beside his equally passionate Alabama fan family. Not only was he an Alabama fan, but he even began to cheer on The University of Tennessee Volunteers and Ole Miss Rebels with his daughter, Celeste, in college, and his grandson, Brycen, committed to the Rebels.

John was one of the best fathers and grandfathers. He was always trying to attend every sports game of all of his children and grandchildren. He was their biggest fan and supporter. He loved the times he spent at the softball fields, football fields, volleyball, and basketball courts watching his grandchildren or children play. To be cheered on by John was an honor that someone was lucky to have.

He was also the best husband to Pearl Williams. Pearl and John were married for 30 years, and he always said that she was his soulmate. They spent many hours dancing around the house to any song that played. He took his vows seriously. He was always there for his wife through the good time and the bad times, along with sickness and health. John retired in 2008 so that he could stay at home with his daughter, Celeste,  while Pearl was starting her own business. It was his honor to be able to make his wife’s dreams come true. He always enjoyed the weekend trips or Sunday drives that he took with Pearl. He was always trying to find somewhere new to go.

John is proceeded in death by his parents, Coretha  and TL Williams, and his brother Mike. He is survived by his wife Pearl Williams, his daughters Brea Williams, Allie Williams Sanders (Gary Sanders), and Celeste Williams, his brothers Rick Williams (Pat Williams) and Tom Williams (Mary), and his grandchildren Hannah Sanders, Brycen Sanders, and Avery Sanders, and many nieces and nephews.
