John S. "Scott" Sawyer

John S. “Scott” Sawyer, 63, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.  Scott was born on February 13, 1960, in Nashville, Tennessee to James H. and Jean Marie (Sager) Sawyer.

Scott graduated from Gallatin High School and Tennessee College of Applied Technology formerly Hartsville Vocational and was employed at ITW-CIP in Gallatin.  Scott learned to love racing midget cars.  This love was learned from his dad, and the two could be found at many midget car races in the circuit.  His sense of humor and love will be missed.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents James and Jean Sawyer.  He is survived by his brother Jim (Karen) Sawyer, niece Rachel Sawyer, nephew Brant Sawyer, great niece Piper Sawyer, along with cousins Irene Acuff, Kathy Ogles, and a host of friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 5pm-8pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11am in the Chapel at the funeral home with visitation 1 hour prior.  Burial will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
