There was a glorious reunion in heaven when John B. Bartlett completed his earthly journey June 10, 2018 and was ushered into the presence of his Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ. The words to Dr. Bartlett's favorite gospel song, "Jesus Paid It All", summarize his life's ambition, "Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow."

Born in Corinth, New York, Dr. Bartlett was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Kenneth Bartlett and was one of six siblings. His sisters Marion Bellamy and Madeline Cudney and brother William Bartlett preceded him in death. Still living in New York are his brothers Lewis and Richard.

Dr. Bartlett married his college sweetheart Ruth Lillian Sniffen. They have two daughters, Cindy Edwards of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Jennifer Gregory of Knoxville, Tennessee. His three grandchildren are Kimberly and Christian Gregory of Knoxville and Aaron Edwards and his wife Elizabeth of Nashville.

Dr. Bartlett graduated from Corinth New York High School and graduated from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, where he completed both a Bachelors and a Masters of Fine Arts degrees. He completed a PhD. In Rhetoric and Public Address at Ohio State University. During his tenure at Bob Jones University, Dr. Bartlett produced and directed the well-known Sunday afternoon Vesper program. He sang with many of the great opera stars of the day in the university's well-known opera program. Dr. and Mrs. Bartlett were soloists on Dr. Bob Jones Senior's radio program, "Dr. Bob Jones Says" and hosted their own daily radio program, "The Radio Hymnal".

Most of Dr. Bartlett's academic career was spent in teaching and college Administration. He served as the Chairperson of the Division of Language and Literature at Malone College in Canton, Ohio, and served on the School Administration at Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, for twenty years. For thirty years during his College tenures, Dr. Bartlett hosted student tours to Europe where he lectured in the major cities on The Fine Arts.
In Augusta, Georgia, Dr. Bartlett served with distinction as Vice President at Westminster Preparatory School and then as Headmaster at Augusta Christian Schools. He retired from his long life in Christian service upon completing a ten-year tenure at his beloved Augusta Christian Schools.

He was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, Augusta, Georgia, where he taught adult Sunday School and participated in the Prime Timers. He was a member of the Damren class who he loved as an extended family.
There will be a family graveside service in New York State where Dr. Bartlett will be buried with his family.
