Joe Pope age 87 of Hendersonville, TN passed away on Sunday January 12th, 2020. Funeral services for Joe will be held on Thursday January 16th 2020 at 11:00AM from the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with interment to follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens in the Garden of Cross. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:30AM until service time at 11:00AM in the chapel.

Joe leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. More than anything he loved to spend time with his family. He was a dependable handyman, often willing to help others out of the kindness of his heart. He had many outdoor hobbies including golfing, fishing at Old Hickory Lake and hunting. He enjoyed taking the boat out with his family and line dancing at Robbie's Barn in Goodlettsville with his wife June. He was a faithful member of the Rivergate Church of Christ.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents Gracey & Edith Estelle Pope, his grandson Brandon Pope , as well as his brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years June Pope. Daughter Sandra (Alan) Gibson, son Ron Pope. Grandchildren: Will Gibson , Patrick (Claire) Gibson, Amy (Jamie) Shultie, Angie Pope. Great-Grandchildren: Janet Shultie, Jake Shultie, Olivia Shultie, Sam Gibson. Sister Ethel Fuston and a host of nieces & nephews.

Joe was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
