Joann Blauw- age 75 passed away June 1, 2015.
Joann loved the Lord and was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. In 1972 she joined St. Timothy Lutheran Church and was always a devoted member.
She always made people feel welcome and her home was always open to anyone who wanted to come. She enjoyed baking and cooking and there were always baked goods around the house. One of her most famous recipes was her brownies.
Her and her husband owned Jayson Promotions/Concert Staging where she always called herself the "bookkeeper" but did much more than that.
Joann had a passion for sports and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. She was the director of the youth basketball program in Hendersonville. She later turned it over to the Hendersonville Parks Department. One of her most proud moments was when she was placed on Hendersonville Parks Department "Wall of Fame" for all her accomplishments with the youth basketball program.
When remembering Joann the words loving and wonderful come to mind. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She especially enjoyed being a grandmother and never missed any activity they were involved in just like she did for her own kids. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Sadie Langklotz and brother, Robert Langklotz. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jimmy Jay Blauw; children, Jeff (Cori) Blauw, Jerry (JoAnna) Blauw and Julie (Jeff) Carrigan; grandchildren, Kyle, Justin, Jessica, and Mary Blauw, Paige Carrigan and Jarod Neal; sister, Janet Walkey; brother, Rod Langklotz; many nieces and nephews also survive.
