Jimmie D. (Jim) Prince, 71, passed away at his home in Gallatin, TN on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019 after a brave battle with cancer.

Jim was born in Albany, KY on August 14, 1948. He graduated from Adamsville High School in Adamsville, TN and from the University of Memphis in Memphis, TN. He was a United States Army veteran and served with the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam. Jim was also a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 240 in Hendersonville, TN. He enjoyed golfing with his son and his golfing buddies, was a fan of the Memphis Tigers basketball and football teams, reading and crossword puzzles. A favorite travel destination of Jim's was St. Andrews, Scotland. Jim was a Christian, patriotic, and honest man who was a loving husband, father and "papaw" to his grandsons.

Jim is preceded in death by his father, James A. Prince and survived by his mother, Cressie Stearns Prince. He is also survived by his wife, Loretta Madison Prince, his son, William Tyson Prince and daughter-in-law, Joni Golightly Prince, grandsons, Benjamin (Benji) Prince and Maddox Prince, sister, Barbara Prince Christopher (Ron) of Adamsville, TN and brother, Dan Prince (Judy) of Eagle, Idaho, along with several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service for Jim will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 East Main Street in Hendersonville on Saturday, September 28th at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Doug Varnado. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow the service with Military Honors at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. www.stjude.org
