Jimmie Hawkins

HAWKINS, Jimmie D. – age 78, of Hendersonville, passed away December 6, 2011. He was a retired attorney having practiced in Davidson and Sumner Counties since 1965. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvel D. and Frances Watson Hawkins, and sister, Dorothy Tenpenny. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Billie Scharber Hawkins; daughter, Holly Brian Miller; grandsons, Landon and Cannon Miller; brother, Lewis Hawkins and several nieces and a nephew. Jim was a very active member of Hendersonville First United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities over the years. A Life Celebration Service will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011, from the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Alexander and Rev. Don Hutchinson officiating. Interment will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Companions Sunday School class. Visitation will be Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home and on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. until service hour at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church.
