Jim Daniel Story Sr., passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the age of 83. Preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Sue Story, brother, Cam Story and grandson, Christopher Daniel Adams. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Ann Story, children, Jim Daniel Story Jr, Matthew Buford Story, Angela June Story and sister, Marie Wilee. Jim is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

Jim was born on December 25, 1934 in Lewisburg, TN. He was a retired United States Navy veteran. While in the Navy, Jim was a minesweeper and deep sea diver, serving on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, the USS Missouri along with others. After retirement from the Navy, Jim worked and retired from UPS as a mechanic. He enjoyed classic country music and enjoyed listening to the Grand Ole Opry on the radio. He also enjoyed various preachers on TV and the radio. Jim was an avid gardener and liked to fish. He was an honest man who provided for his family. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life service for Jim will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Thursday, November 8th at 2:00PM, officiated by Pastor Jerry Peace. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 7th from 4:00PM-8:00PM and again Thursday one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Navy Military Honors.
