Jesse W. "Bill" Griffith age 84 of Hendersonville was born April 27, 1932 in Kansas City, MO to J.W. and Allene Griffith and joined the Lord on June 3, 2016.

As a child Bill moved to New Orleans and then moved to Lafayette, LA where he met Harriet, spent time in the Navy, then married his best friend. They had three sons and lived in Baton Rouge, LA 40 years. During this time Bill was a role-model for his sons, attending Jefferson Methodist Church and First Christian Church. Bill was Past Master of St. James Masonic Lodge #47 F. & A.M., active in Acacia Shrine Klowns, Baton Rouge Model Railroad Club, Istrouma Area Council Boy Scouts of America, Order of the Arrow, Explorer Post Advisor, and Scoutmaster.

After living in Louisiana the majority of his life, Bill moved to Hendersonville, TN to be near family. He was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, CenTenn Allegra Camping Club, Sumner County Shrine Club, Hendersonville Masonic Lodge, Tennessee Central Railway Museum, and earned the Master Model Railroader certificate from the National Model Railroad Association.

He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of nearly 60 years, Harriet F. Griffith; sons and daughters-in-law John and Anna, Paul and Cindy, Mark and Louise; grandchildren Rebecca, Joshua, Andrew, Elizabeth, Brittany; and three nieces.
