Jerry Lavan Keen, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
He was born in Ocala, Florida on January 11, 1948.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Johnnie Ruth Keen; father, Walter Baker Keen; sister, Virginia Rushin; brothers, Carlos Keen and Walter Keen. He was the youngest of seven children.
He leaves behind his devastated family, wife of 49 years, Susan Keen; daughter, Jennifer and Chris Frazier; grandchildren, Taylor and Tyler Frazier; son, Matthew L. Keen; brothers, John Keen, Charles Keen, and James Keen.
Countless nieces and nephews and close family will miss his guidance and direction.
Jerry spent two years in the US Airforce in Vietnam.
He was a man of many talents and mastered many businesses. He started “Commodore Express” trucking company and was a beloved employer.
Jerry retired several years ago and was spending time in Gulf Shores, Alabama. He didn’t stay idle long. He started a booming business, renting beach houses. Jerry bought the first SSCI (Susan’s Sand Castle I), then built two more, SSCII and SSCIII.
Guests have given countless accolades concerning these beautiful houses.
He will leave a huge hole in our hearts and lives. His guidance and work ethic will stay with us, always.

Funeral service for Jerry will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, in Hendersonville, on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 2 P.M. Visitation with friends and family will be from 12 P.M. until service time.
