Jeremy Witzberger was born in Akron, OH, September 15, 1982 to Richard and Terri Witzberger. The family moved to Hendersonville, TN in 1992. Jeremy and his sister, Krystal, always returned to Ohio in the summer to spend time with their grandparents, delighted in visiting Cedar Point and eating popsicles with "PaPaw". Jeremy was known to his family and friends as "Berger." He loved movies, music, car shows, and computers. He also enjoyed hanging with his friends reminiscing and making new memories. He especially appreciated Justin Witzberger, his cousin and friend who was always there for him and was instrumental in getting him started on the right path in life.
"Berger" was known to be quick with a story, a movie line to cite, and always ... always had a "come back." He was loving, thoughtful, kind, and funny ... and loved playing dart war and teasing his niece and nephew, McKenzie and Rowdy. Jeremy always made time for family, spending Christmases in Ohio, Labor Day weekend camping with Krystal and Justin so they could all celebrate their birthdays together ... and then there was the Witzberger-Houser family reunion with miniature golf, baseball, and row boating!
Jeremy's favorite food was strawberry jelly (just like his Dad) ... and he put it on everything! The place he enjoyed being the most was at PaPaw's and Grandma's house in Akron, and Best Buy, of course, where he could search through the innumerable video games, movies, and various electronics.
His relaxed and laid back demeanor was the basis of his strong character. Jeremy held those he loved close to his heart and cherished the time he spent with the people who had influenced his life the most; Justin, Drew, Mikey, Krystal and his number one man, Rick, his dad.
Jeremy passed away on May 24, 2016 leaving so many special people behind; his mother, Terri Witzberger; sister, Krystal Gaines (Brandon); niece, McKenzie Gaines; nephew, Rowdy Gaines; grandparents, Ray and Barbara Witzberger. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Witzberger and grandparents, Oliver and Virginia Perkins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday at 2pm with visitation held prior from 1pm-2pm. Visitation with the family will also be held on Saturday from 5pm-9pm all at Hendersonville Funeral Home 353 E Main St Hendersonville, TN 37075 615-824-3855 hendersonvillefh.com
