Mrs. Jeannelle P. Pirkle age 90 of Hendersonville, TN. passed away on Saturday, December 28th 2019.

Funeral Services for Jeannelle will be held on Monday December 30th at 2:30PM in the Mausoleum of Hendersonville Memory Gardens. The family will accept visitors at the mausoleum from 1:30PM until service time at 2:30PM.

Jeannelle was born in Atlanta GA to Ernest & Nell Petty on December 31, 1928. At the young age of 9 she joined West End Baptist church in Atlanta. As a teenager she worked in bible school. After high school she attended Tift College in Forsythe Georgia. While at Tift she worked 4 years in a mission church teaching Sunday school and playing the piano for church services. During her time there she also served as the vice president of the Baptist student union in charge of the vesper services (evening prayer service). She graduated with a Bachelors in English & Religious Education. Upon Graduation from college she was a secretary to the assistant vice president of the southern Baptist radio commission in Atlanta. During that time she was a leader of the 13-14 year old's Sunday school department. She planned all weekly devotionals and visited 85-100 young people each year for 14 years. She also served as the the training union leader for the 17-18 year old's.

After the birth of Ben, she taught Sunday School for first and second graders for the next 25 years. After a period of time, she changed employment and went to southern bell telephone company as secretary to the assistant vice president personnel in charge of recruiting and training college graduates for the company.

For 18 years she was employed by the Dekalb County Georgia school system in the reading program as the school library secretary. One of her greatest rewards that of a student that she had helped get on grade level graduated with honors from high school. The student came to her classroom hugged and thanked her. Jeannelle retired from Druid Hills High school in Atlanta, Georgia.

Jeannelle is preceded in death by her parents Ernest & Nell Petty as well as her sister "Teen" Kiser.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Curtis Pirkle. Her son Ben & (Monica) Pirkle & Grandsons Tyler & Austin.

She was a loving wife, mother grandmother and friend to all. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
