Jean Hickey Reed Crowell of Gallatin, TN passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017. Jean was born May 5, 1931 in Dekalb County. She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert Alford Walker and Chauncie Walker Thomas. Also Preceded by husbands; James Ray Hickey, Hugh Don Reed, William L. Crowell, and step-brother, Joe Thomas.
Survived by daughters; Deborah Anderson, Kathy Atkinson(Hugh), and son; Greg Hickey(Jennifer). Six grandchildren; Anthony, Angie, Tyler, Justin, Jaret, and Jamie. 6 Great-Grandchildren; Dylan, Anthony Jr., Andrew, Lauren, Adeline, and Conner. Sisters; Sue Kemp(Bill), and Donna Smith. 3 Step-children; Donnie(Laura), James(Mary), and Brandi(Richard). Five step-grandchildren; Shelby, Jacob, Caleb, Sidney, and Jack.
Jean attended Watertown High School, where she was an outstanding basketball player. Jean worked for many years in the guidance department at Stratford High School. From there, Jean went on to a long and successful career as a Real Estate agent. She was a long time member of Neely's Bend Baptist Church, Tulip Grove Baptist Church, and Old Hickory Country Club. Jean loved the outdoors where she enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, RV trips, and gardening. Jean was an amazing cook. Jean loved life, her family, and friends.
Visitation will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 353 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, TN, on Tuesday, August 15th, 2017 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, and Wednesday, August 16th, 2017 from 10:00am to 11:00am; with the service at 11:00am. The service will be officiated by Reverend Larry Dearth.
