Jane Leiby

Jane W Leiby, age 96, formerly of Cincinnati Ohio, passed away in Hendersonville, Tennessee on March 21, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David W Leiby.  She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Leiby, Robert (Sue Crookall) Leiby, David (Bettye) Leiby, and grandchildren Erin (Dominic) Langone, Ryan (Samm) Leiby, Adam (Helen Shaw) Leiby, and great grandchild Luca Langone.

Mrs. Leiby was born on November 7, 1925 in Attleboro, Massachusetts.  She grew up in the Boston area and spent her early childhood in Berlin Germany.  She attended grammar school and high school in the Boston area.  She graduated from Depauw University in 1947 where she majored in Chemistry and minored in Math.

She and her husband David were married in 1949. They enjoyed raising a family and traveling through the United States with their growing family.  As empty nesters, they enjoyed working summers in Yellowstone National Park meeting new people and exploring on their days off.  They took many trips to various places around the world learning about different cultures and ecosystems through Elderhostel programs.

Mrs. Leiby worked as the Food Service director for several school systems in the Cincinnati area for over 20 years.

She was a longtime supporter of the arts and classic music lover having played the violin and harp.

A memorial service will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens on October 8, 2022 with visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a service at 11:00 AM.

The family thanks the staff at The Hearth of Hendersonville where she resided since March of 2018 for all of their care and support.
