James H. Watson of Hendersonville, TN passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. James was born January 2, 1930 in DeKalb County, TN to the late Edgar and Bobbie (McBride) Watson. He founded and operated a fence company that remained in business for over 50 years, providing employment to most of the family throughout the years. In his spare time, James enjoyed golf and playing Tennis, which he did every week for many years. James was also a member of First Baptist Church in Hendersonville for over 20 years before starting Central Baptist Church, where he remained an active member for over 30 years. On April 10, 1948, James was united in marriage to his loving and faithful wife of over 70 years, Katherine (Price) Watson, who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Melinda (Robert) Webb; brother, Earl (Robbie) Watson; grandchildren, Tracie Watson, Ashley Kerth, Kira Richey, Chase & Dylan Webb and great grandchildren, Watson & Dovie Kerth. James was preceded in death by a son, Eddy Watson and a sister, Helen Watson. Family will receive friends on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5-8pm and again on Saturday, June 9 from 10am-1pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St; Hendersonville, TN 37075) where a celebration of life will follow Saturday at 1pm, Brother Mike Shelton officiating. Interment will take place following the services at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
